Errands

My life is busy. I must admit that much of it is self-induced craziness. Yes, I have triplets, but I also work in the office 3 days a week AND I still feel the need to live my pre-baby life at some capacity. SOOOO, when I'm home I often feel the need to run errands...get out...get things done...check things off the list. I often second-guess myself since I'm also trying to establish a good routine for the babies, but I've come to realize that "getting out" is simply my nature. Good thing is that it's also my mom's nature. She's my co-pilot on my "at home" days and jokes to the babies and says "you're simply going to have to get used to this, your mommy is on the move!"

This weekend I'm preparing for a very good friend's baby shower. Jen has experienced the same history of waiting and hoping for a baby that I did and we were a major support for each other during our trials and tribulations. She and her husband are finally having their "miracle baby" and I am soooo thrilled. So we're having a baby shower!! I used to deliberate over every detail when it comes to a party; I tried so hard to pull it back this time. Even though, some old habits are hard to break. Here's a pic of my amazing mom getting ready to feed the trips some milk as I ran around town checking multiple items off my list. We were super efficient! One car ride got the following done:
(most of you may be thinking, what about online? Well, much was already done online, but reality and my nature still requires the real world)

- ribbon for baby shower
- baby shower flowers
- baby shower candies
- box for baby shower gift
- hooks for shower decor
- dad birthday gift
- Nancy (sister in law) belated gift

Aside from caring for babies, at home tasks = wrapping all gifts, bows around flower pots, filling favor bags and labeling

Whew - now for some sleep.

"I FOUND SOMETHING!"

This morning Kreg yelled out from the nursery "I FOUND SOMETHING!" What? Seriously, what could it be? A secret collection of "missing binkies" hidden under Charlotte's snuggly? A miracle slobber stain in the image of the Mona Lisa on Alton's sheet?! (now that's just silly)
Nope.... "BAXTER'S GOT A TOOTH!" I ran in ans stuck my finger right in his mouth. YUP! All that drooling, gnawing, and grumpiness was exactly what we thought. Baxter's cutting a tooth and we've officially entered the "teething stage". I'm not sure if I'm excited or scared toothless!

Happy 1/2 Birthday!!!

It's been 6 months since Alton, Baxter, and Charlotte arrived into our lives. It's a little hard to believe...half of a year has already gone by in a blur of bottles, spit-up, smiles, and kisses. I'm a "to-do list" kinda gal. Below are some "tasks" that we've checked off our list. Sometimes I need to pat myself on the back for our past accomplishments in order to face the future challenges. Eek...crawling, teething, and baby-proofing is next.

- Build 3 cribs, paint 2 rooms, rearrange downstairs, and buy minivan in preparation for triplet madenss....CHECK
- Lug giant preggo body through halls of corporate world with head held high, knowing there were questions about my return...CHECK
- Become friends with doctors and nurses that I saw once a week for 9 weeks straight....CHECK
- Maintain calm disposition when unexpectedly told "it's time" at a routine appt...CHECK
- Kangaroo care for all 3 babies in NICU...CHECK
- Deliver breast milk every day for first 7 weeks of babies' lives....CHECK
- Manage through weeks of sleepless nights without going into a complete downward spiral....CHECK
- Watch husband turn into a zombie and then come back to us in the form of a loving, laughing, and caring daddy....CHECK
- Make difficult decision to pick up the keys and head back into the office for good of family and self...CHECK
- Just say "let's just pack em up and go for a ride" - it's harder than it sounds...CHECK
- Recognize each baby as individuals and give them their own individual love...CHECK
- Don't be afraid to take the WHOLE family out to a party, even if I'm upset or nervous about the crying that comes with triplet 5 month olds...CHECK
- Read and follow book on sleep training babies and reap the rewards....CHECKing

There's much more that I can say...but I'm tired. I will say though, this parenthood trip has been amazing. Our babies are healthy, round, and full of curiosity and we are so thankful for that. Our friends and family have been a wonderful support and we are so lucky.

We love you Aton, Baxter, and Charlotte. Happy 6 Month Birthday!

Good Morning!

Alton, Baxter, and Charlotte are simply all smiles every morning. Along with bedtiime (ahem), morning time is one of my favorite times of the days. They lay quietly in their cribs...kicking and smiling. I often pile them into one crib for them to hang out together for a bit. It's so cute.

A Feeding Frenzy!!!

Every morning we strap the babies into their little high chairs and it quickly turns into a feeding frenzy. Kreg and I have to double team them since they boys get very impatient and begin to scream if you're a little too slow on the delivery. We shovel it in as quickly as possible to avoid too much of a racket. So far our menu has consisted of rice cereal mixed with apples, pears, peaches, and sweet potatoes! Yum Yum!!
